Common Belts Grand Slam In Pitt-Greensburg's Loss To Loras

AUBURNDALE, Florida- Despite a grand slam from Chris Common, the Pitt-Greensburg baseball team (0-4) dropped a doubleheader to Loras College (0-2) Friday afternoon at Lake Myrtle Park #6.

Game One
Win- Sam Marhefke (1-0)
Loss- Matt Mish (0-2)

Pitt-Greensburg jumped out to the lead in their first at-bats of the afternoon. Sullivan put together a solid at-bat and reached base after a six-pitch at-bat that resulted in ball four, giving the freshman infielder the base. With the bases full of Bobcats, Evan Johnston came through with a sacrifice fly to centerfield, which plated Bonadio to give Pitt-Greensburg a 1-0 advantage.

Loras tied the game at one in the top of the third, as Joe Egan scored on an RBI base hit from Austin Konagel. The Duhawks added a run in the fourth and led 2-1 after four inning of action.

In the bottom of the fifth, Bonadio roped a one-out double to centerfield and Holland drew a two-out walk, but the Bobcats couldn't take advantage of the two base runners.

After shutting down the Bobcats in the fifth, Loras reeled off four runs in the sixth to grab hold of the game. The Duhawks brought all nine batters to the plate in the inning and scored four runs on six hits.

Daniel Kiester doubled home Griffin Clark in the sixth, but Loras would go on for the 6-2 victory.
