Women’s Volleyball Drops Close Match to Waynesburg

Greensburg, PA – Pitt-Greensburg women's volleyball lost to Wayensburg University in five sets. Pitt-Greensburg now holds a 2-10 record on the season.

The Bobcats stormed out of the gates winning the opening two sets, 25-14 and 25-21 respectively. The Yellow Jackets would storm back and pick up wins in the third and fourth set, which forced a winner-take-all final stanza. The Bobcats jumped out to a quick 6-2 advantage in the final set, but following a timeout from Waynesburg rattled off 11-consecutive points and would hold on for a 15-7 final set which. 

Senior Emma Dongilli put together an impressive all-around performance, posting a game-high 39 assists to go along with a team-best 15 digs. Mackenzie Schropp led the way on the offensive end, posting 12 kills to lead the team for a second-consecutive contest. 

Pitt-Greensburg returns to action Saturday (Sept 28) when they head to Meadville to take on John Carroll University at 1pm, and Allegheny College at 3pm.
