AUBURNDALE, Fla- The Pitt-Greensburg baseball team dropped both ends of a doubleheader to Belot, Tuesday evening at Lake Myrtle Park #1.
Pitt-Greensburg lost the opening game of the day by a score of 6-2 and fell 16-0 in game two.
Offensively, Abram King led the way with three hits, Ben Green added two base hits, and Dylan DeRoss, Justin Swinko, and Chandler Goodwin each had a hit.
Game 1- Beloit 6, Pitt-Greensburg 2
Beloit got on the scoreboard early, plating five runs on three hits in the top of the first inning. The Buccaneers added on to the lead in the second and led 6-0 after two innings of play.
The Bobcats broke the shutout in the sixth when Green smacked a one-out double and would later come around to score on a sacrifice fly from Jace Cappellini.
Swinko collected his first career RBI in the bottom of the seventh, but it was not enough as Pitt-Greensburg dropped the opening game of the day, 6-2.
Game 2- Pitt-Greensburg 0, Beloit 16
Beloit would complete the sweep of the doubleheader scoring 16 runs on 10 hits. The Bucs notched two runs in the first and took command of the game with seven runs in the second.
Pitt-Greensburg returns to action Tuesday afternoon with its final doubleheader in Florida against Concordia College (Minnesota).
