Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Mounties offensive explosion downs men's soccer

CRESSON, PA – The Bobcat men's soccer team was able to find the back of the net, however, was not able to get the win in an AMCC Conference matchup with Mount Aloysius on Tuesday. Pitt-Greensburg dropped the match 5-1 after a strong offensive effort by the Mounties. 
 
The Bobcats struck first, scoring the team's first goals since the Medaille game. The goal came off the foot of Ross Hartley. Hartley's goal was assisted by Jason Argueta
 
The Bobcats held the lead for most of the first half, only to give up a goal to Mount Aloysius with less than 15 minutes left in the half. Louis Vivier scored for the Mounties to tie the game. Mount got on the score sheet again less than two minutes later with Colby Snyder finding the back of the net. 
 
Mount Aloysius found the net early and often in the second half, netting two goals in the first ten minutes of the half, and then adding one final goal with 12:48 left in the game. 
 
The Mounties out shot the Bobcats 22-3 with 17 of their shots coming on goal. Pitt-Greensburg was only able to get two shots on goal. Pitt-Greensburg goalkeeper was able to save 12 of Mount's 17 shots on goal. Rodgers 12 saves is a season high for the Bobcats. 
 
Mount used its deep bench to keep fresh, playing 21 players throughout the match. Carson Gilarno led the way off the bench for the Bobcats, playing 57 of the 90 minutes. 
 
The Bobcats will travel to Hamburg, New York to take on Hilbert on Saturday. Kickoff will be at 3:15.
