Women's Volleyball struggles against Mount Aloysius

GREENSBURG – The University of Pittsburgh at Greensburg women's volleyball team's struggles continued Tuesday, dropping the team's conference home opener to Mount Aloysius 3-0. The Bobcats struggled to get any momentum going, dropping the sets by the scores of 25-18, 25-17, and 25-14. 
 
The Bobcats started out the first set on a 3-0 run only for the Mounties to come right back with a 3-0 run of its own. Pitt-Greensburg was able to extend their lead to 8-4, however, Mount Aloysius battled back to take a 13-10 lead. The Bobcats were able to bring the game within one point, but the Mounties proved to be too much, elevating its lead to 22-16 before taking the seg 25-18. 
 
In the second set, Mount Aloysius took control and didn't look back. The Mounties had a 9-4 lead and led by nine towards the middle of the set. Mount took its largest lead of the set at 23-13 and finished off the Bobcats by a score of 25-17.
 
The third set was back-and-forth with Pitt-Greensburg taking a 9-6 lead. Mount bounced right back, taking all the momentum while going on a six-point run to take a 12-9 lead. The Mounties would finish the set on a 13-5 run.
 
The Mounties finished the match with 33 kills compared to Pitt-Greensburg's 19. Ashlee Parrish led Mount in kills with seven while Emma Halutick led the Bobcats with five. Alexis Ray had five service aces for the Bobcats and Taylor Logan contributed 12 assists. 
 
The Bobcats will be taking the Chamber Hall court once again this Saturday when the host Hilbert at 1 pm.
