Bobcats dominate Hilbert

GREENSBURG - The Bobcat women's volleyball team took a clean sweep to Hilbert in Chambers Hall Gymnasium on Saturday. Pitt-Greensburg defeated the Hawks 3-0 by the scores of 25-14, 25-12, and 25-10.

The Bobcats played its best match of the year not letting Hilbert to come withing ten points in the final score. In set one, Hilbert jumped out to a 4-1 lead before the Bobcats were able to go on a 14-2 run to swing momentum for the set and ultimately the match. The Bobcats finished off the Hawks by scoring ten of the final 16 points.

Pitt-Greensburg took the momentum they built from the first set and turned it into domination over the final two sets. In the second set, the Bobcats jumped out to a 10-3 lead due to the stellar serving of Abigail Miller. Miller rattled off eight straight services to help Pitt-Greensburg jump out to the seven-point lead. The Bobcats held the Hawks to just nine more points in the set.

The third set was all Bobcats once again, jumping out to an 11-point lead before Hilbert was able to score a point. The Hawks were not able to put multiple points together until the game was out of reach, scoring four-straight points to take the score to 24-10. A service error by Hilbert was the final straw, giving the Bobcats the 25-10 win.

Emma Halutick and Miller led the Bobcats in kills with six each while Taylor Logan led the team in assists. Miller and Logan had four service aces each as well.

The Bobcats will travel to Altoona to take on the Lions in an AMCC matchup this Wednesday. First serve is set for 7 pm.
