Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Men's Soccer can't find back of the net; shutout by Alfred State

Pitt-Greensburg Men's Soccer continued the trend of the Bobcats invading Alfred State this afternoon, falling in their match 2-0.  Alfred State improved their conference record to 1-2 while the Bobcats dropped to 0-3. The Pioneers scored a goal in each half on 12 shots with six getting on goal. UPG had a much better showing in the shots category compared to recent matches, recording ten shots with eight being on goal. 
 
Jean Baptiste Kagde and Andres Mateos were the two goal scorers from the Pioneers with one coming in the 33rd minute and the latter coming in the 76th minute. Kagde had three shots in the match, with two getting on goal. 
 
For the Bobcats, Adam Yoder, Carson Gilarno, and Vinny Treonze each had two shots on goal. Robert Reed and Jack Shirley also had a shot on goal. Seven players for Pitt-Greensburg played the full 90 minutes for the Bobcats. Tristan Larson led the way off the bench, playing 49 minutes of game action. 
 
The Pioneers also had seven players play the full 90, but went much deeper in its bench, playing a total of 18 players compared to 15 for the Bobcats. 
 
Goal Keeper Danny Rodgers mad four saves on six shots in the game while Thad Grierson made eight save for Alfred State. 
 
The Bobcats will be looking to get some offense going after being shut out five out of the last six games during this losing streak. The team will look to bounce back as they travel to Penn State Altoona for a non-conference matchup on Wednesday. Kickoff is set for 7 pm.
