Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Strong defense not enough for Bobcats against Lions

The Pitt-Greensburg men's soccer teams offensive woes continued Wednesday, losing a non-conference match to Penn State Altoona by a score of 1-0. This match comes in a long stretch in which the Bobcats have been struggling to find the back of the net.

The defense stepped up its game however, keeping the game tied until the 77th minute. That is when Ciaran Corr was able to get the ball past keeper Danny Rodgers to give the Lions the game winning goal.

The Lions were able to record 14 shots, however, only four were able to get on goal. On the other side, the Bobcats recorded eight shots, with only two getting to the keeper.

Carson Gilarno, Javin Melvin, and Jason Argueta all recorded two shots for the Bobcats. Melvin and Argueta recorded the two shots on target. Melvin recorded his first shot on goal early, however, the Bobcats were not able to develop much momentum from the early chance.

Five Bobcats played the full 90 with Jack Shirley leading the way off the bench, playing 62 minutes. The Lions played the whole game with just one substitute while the Bobcats played with fifteen players.

The Bobcats will have this weekend off before being back in action on Oct. 12 when they travel to Mount Aloysius in an AMCC matchup. Kickoff will be at 8:15.
