Game Recap: Women's Volleyball |

Bobcats struggle in doubleheader against Alfred State

The Bobcat Women's Volleyball team traveled to New York on Saturday to take on Alfred State in multiple matches. Pitt-Greensburg was not able to carry on the momentum from the matches earlier in the week, dropping both matches 3-0.

Both teams struggled in the first match, combining for only 21 kills. The difference was that Alfred State only had four attack errors and had a 32 percent attack percentage compared to the Bobcats four percent attack rate.  UPG was able to stay in the set, however, Alfred State pulled ahead at the end, winning by four points.

The Bobcats struggles continued in the next two sets, not being able to stay within striking range. Alfred State took the final two sets of the match by score of 25-11 and 25-12.

Emma Halutick led UPG in kills with six. Alexis Ray led the team in services aces and blocks with two each.

The second match of the day was much of the same for the Bobcats, as they struggled to get anything going. UPG lost all three sets by score of 25-10, 25-15, and 25-19. The Bobcats were only able to muster 13 kills in the match while Alfred State tallied 29. UPG also had 23 attack errors while Alfred State had just ten.

Abigail Lescallette had a solid defensive game for the Bobcats with 17 digs. Halutick led in blocks and service aces.

UPG will travel to Carlow on Wednesday to take on the Celtics in Pittsburgh. First serve is set for 7 pm.
