Bobcats no match for Celtics

The University of Pittsburgh at Greensburg women's volleyball team took on the city on Wednesday, playing a match against the Celtics of Carlow. The Bobcats lost the match 3-0. 
 
Carlow started off hot in the first set, jumping to a 13-4 lead. The Bobcats were able to bring it as close as six points; however, the Celtics were able to score ten out of the last 14 points to take the set by a score of 25-13.
 
UPG started off strong in the second set, jumping to a 4-2 lead. The Bobcats took it to 6-4, however, the Celtics rattled off five straight points to take a 9-6 lead. Carlow built its lead to 21-10 and ended up taking the set 25-11.
 
The third and final set was much closer, with the set being tied as late as 13-13. UPG was able to go on a four-point run after that, taking a 17-13 lead. The teams were once again tied at 20, and then the Bobcats took a 21-20 lead. Carlow then went on a five-point run to take the set and the match. 
 
Pitt-Greensburg finished the match with 18 kills and 29 errors while Carlow finished the match with 31 kills and just 12 errors.  
 
Alexis Ray finished the match leading the Bobcats in kills with five. Taylor Logan had 13 assists and Abigail Lescallette finished the match with 19 digs. 
 
Volleyball will be off this weekend and return back to the Chambers Hall Gym to try to notch its first conference win against Mount Aloysius on Oct. 12.
