Women's Soccer Tops Pitt-Bradford on Senior Day, 11-0

GREENSBURG - The University of Pittsburgh at Greensburg women's soccer team took down visiting Pitt-Bradford in convincing fashion this afternoon, 11-0. Three Bobcats recorded hat tricks in the blowout victory, while not allowing the Panthers to record a shot all game.

The Bobcats improve to 6-1 in Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference play and 14-2 on the season. The Panthers drop to 0-14-2 and 0-7-1 in conference.

Pitt-Greensburg was dominant from start to finish. The Bobcats scored five goals in the first half and six in the second.

Ashley Lucas, Tiffany Michalek, and Emily Bonelli posted the hat tricks for Pitt-Greensburg.

Lucas wasted no time scoring in the fifth minute of the game. She added two more goals for herself in the 48th and 51st.

Michalek's three goals came in the 24th, 31st, and 59th minutes. She extended her team and conference leading season goal total to 20 with today's hat trick.

Bonelli laced in her goals in the 35th, 76th, and 85th minutes, putting her season total to 13.

Alexz Rosser put in the Bobcats fifth goal in the 40th minute.

Freshman, Cora Forney found the back of the net in the 88th minute to move the score to its eventual final, 11-0. The goal was Forney's first career in the Blue and Gold.

Another strong showing for the Bobcat defense secured the shutout. Pitt-Bradford was not able to attempt a single shot. It was the first time this season the Pitt-Greensburg defense accomplished that feat and first time the program has done it since October 13, 2018 when they shutdown Medaille. The Bobcats also drew 13 corner kicks, while allowing just one.

Lauren Yoder spent the first 60 minutes in net and Paige John closed out the final 30.

Becca Kubler dished out two assists on the day, while Logan Jennings, Elise Stratil, Hawa Jenneh, and Michalek had one apiece.

The Bobcats celebrated senior day prior to today's game, as they honored Hawa Janneh, Alex Corna, Tiffany Michalek, Lauren Yoder, and Elise Stratil prior to kickoff for their contributions to the program over their time in the Blue and Gold.

Pitt-Greensburg will wrap up their regular season schedule on Tuesday when they host La Roche University for a 1 pm match. They can secure the #2 seed in the AMCC playoffs with a win.
