Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Offensive Explosion Helps Bobcats Soar Past RedHawks

The Bobcat Men's Soccer team finished out the regular season with a dominating performance over the La Roche Red Hawks. Pitt-Greensburg had six different goal scorers in its 7-0 win.

Javin Melvin got the Bobcats on the board early, scoring a goal 54 seconds into the game. Melivn would find the back of the net again later in the half, giving him eight goals on the season. Ross Hatley, Jason Argueta, and Lucas Killen also got in the score sheet in the first half, each scoring a goal a piece, Vinny Treonze and Melvin also recorded two assists in the first half.

Carson Gilarno and Gabriel Yeager put the icing on the cake in the second half getting the Bobcat goal total to seven, with the last goal coming in the 72nd minute. Gialrno also had an assist on the goal by Argueta.

While the offense was the story for Pitt-Greensburg, the defense did not let La Roche get anything going, keeping them from recording a single shot in the entire match. The Bobcats amassed 27 shots throughout the 90 minutes, with 13 of those shots getting on goal.

Gilarno led the Bobcats in shots with five, while Melvin was right behind him with four of his own. Adam Yoder, Robert Reed, and Connor Knipp led the way in minutes for the Bobcats, playing all 90 minutes. Justin Williams led the bench attack in playing 61 minutes.

Pitt-Greensburg still has hope in the AMCC playoff race. The Bobcats need Mount Aloysius to beat Penn State Altoona on Tuesday to secure a spot in the AMCC playoffs for Pitt-Greensburg.
