Game Recap: Men's Basketball |

France's buzzer beater bounces out; Bobcats lose to Carlow

The Pitt-Greensburg Men's Basketball team opened the season on Friday in Chambers Hall Gymnasium with the Carlow Celtics. The Celtics came out on fire and held on at the end to defeat the Bobcats 84-82.

Carlow opened up the first half very aggressively with Riley Comforti leading the way with ten first half points. For the Bobcats, Jaylen Williams was the leading scorer in the first half with 13 points and JoJo France was right behind him with 12. Even with the strong effort from the Bobcats, the Celtics took a 49-46 lead into half.

Carlow led the whole second half up until the Bobcats were able to come back and tie the game in the final minute. The Celtics then came down and hit a shot to take a two-point lead with just around 20 seconds left. After a turnover by each team, the Bobcats were able to get the ball back for a last shot at the win with just over five seconds left. France went the length of the court and got a three-pointer off at the buzzer, however it hit the left side of the rim and bounced out.

France led the way in points for Pitt-Greensburg with 26 while fellow senior Matt Johnson scored 17 points.

The Bobcats will take the court again on Monday when they host the Presidents of & Jefferson. Tip-off is slated for 7 pm.
