Game Recap: Men's Basketball |

Bobcats Defense Shuts Down Franciscan; Extends Winning Streak to Two Games

The Pitt-Greensburg Men's Basketball team won its second game in a row by the largest margin of the season, defeating the Barons of Franciscan93-62. Matt Johnson was the leading scorer for the Bobcats with 20 points and JoJo France became the 14th player in program history to eclipse 1,000 points as he dropped 17 for Pitt-Greensburg.

Five Bobcats scored in double-figures, including Octavius Hardy, who scored 12 points off of the bench. Micah Jones recorded a double-double with 14 points and 11 rebounds. France added eight rebounds to his 17 points. Jaylen Williams rounded out the Bobcats double-digit scores with his ten points.

Johnson was hot froe behind the arc, hitting four out of the six three pointers he took. He also contributed two steals. Pitt-Greensburg scored 48 points in the paint and 18 points off of 18 Franciscan turnovers. Pitt-Greensburg was forced into 19 turnovers, however, only four of those turnovers came in the second half.

The Bobcats defense was tough on the Barons, who average over 90 points per game so far this season. Pitt-Greensburg held the Barons to a near season low 62 points. The only game the Barons scored less was against Saint Francis (Pa.) a Division I opponent.

Pitt-Greensburg will now take a week hiatus to celebrate the holiday and return to the Chambers Hall Gymnasium on December 29th against Chatham. Tip-off will be at 1 pm.
