Bobcats Sweep Saint Vincent out of Chambers Hall

The Pitt-Greensburg Women's Volleyball team got its first win of the season in a thrilling sweep of the Saint Vincent Bearcats. The Bobcats took the sets by the scores of 25-20, 25-18, and 25-19.

The Bobcats controlled most of the match, jumping out to early leads in each sets and holding onto them throughout the set. UPG improved on the amount of kills that the team recorded, something that it has been struggling with in recent matches. Pitt-Greensburg recorded 31 kills with 15 errors in the match. Emma Halutick recorded 12 kills to lead the team. Savanna Stevens and Alexis Ray recorded six and four kills respectively. Saint Vincent recorded 29 kills with 18 errors.

The Bobcats also had the advantage with the team's services, recording eight aces while Saint Vincent had numerous service errors. Halutick, Logan Taylor, and Alanna Meloy each had two service aces. The Bobcats were also sharper mentally, as they took the momentum from set-to set while the Bearcats were having trouble keeping its composure.

UPG seemed to have an answer for most of the Bearcats attacks, recording 34 digs throughout the three sets. Abigail Lescallette led the team in digs with 11 while Halutick and Taylor had six a piece.

Pitt-Greensburg will be in action next on Thursday when they travel to Bethany, West Virginia. First serve is set for 7 pm.
