Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Bobcats Offense Lacks; Men's Soccer Falls in AMCC Opener

BUFFALO, NY - The Pitt-Greensburg Men's Soccer Team opened up AMCC play at Medaille this afternoon. The Bobcats struggled to contain the Mavericks offense, losing the match 5-2. 
 
UPG got on the board early, with Ross Hatley finding the back of the net six minutes into the game. This was Harltey's first goal of the season. Medaille scored goals in the 28th and 39th minute to take a 2-1 lead going into halftime. 
 
Vinny Treonze was able to tie the match early in the second half, however, the Mavericks scored three unanswered goals to take the conference opener. Medaille shot early and often on the Bobcats, recording 16 shots in the first half and 12 in the second half, with 16 of those shots getting on goal.
 
The Bobcats had no answer to the Medaille defense recording five shots throughout the match, with four shots getting to the keeper. Carson Gilarno led the Bobcats in shots, with both of his two shots getting on goal. 
 
Gilarno, Javin Melvin, and Robert Reed led Pitt-Greensburg in minutes, playing the full 90. Jason Argueta led the way off the bench, playing 67 of the 90 minutes. Danny Rodgers saved five of the ten shots he faced. 
 
The Bobcats will host the Bison of Bethany this Wednesday at Ridilla Field. Kickoff is 4 p.m.
