Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Rodgers has strong showing in loss to Behrend

The Bobcat Men's Soccer team took on Penn State Behrend in front of a huge crowd at Ridilla Field on Saturday. Despite a strong showing by goal keeper Danny Rodgers, the Bobcats dropped the match 3-0.

Both teams were deadlocked at zero for most of the first half until Behrend's Chris Profaca scored a goal in the 33rd minute. That proved to be all the Lions needed as they were able to keep the Bobcats from scoring. Cameron Eckberg and Zach Schwartzel added two more goals for the Lions in the second half.

The story of the day may have been Behrend's defense, holding the Bobcats to one shot over 90 minutes. Vinny Treonze was the lone Bobcat to record a shot. On the other side of the ball, the Lions were able to record 22 shots with 12 being on goal. Behrend forward Logan Brinsky led the Lions with three shots on goal.

Rodgers was the story for the Bobcats, making nine save after being run over in the box early in the first half. Adam Yoder was the only player for UPG to play the full 90 minutes.

The Bobcats will be in action on Wednesday when they travel to Muskingum. Kickoff will be at 7 pm.
