Bobcat Women's Volleyball Drop Opener

Women's Volleyball drops opening match 3-0 to Grove City

GREENSBURG- Pitt-Greensburg Women's Volleyball fell in its season opener to Grove City College 3-0. The Bobcats played a hard-fought match, taking the Wolverines to the limit in the first and third sets. 
 
The Bobcats jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the first set, only for Grove City to rattle off four points of their own. The teams were tied at five when the Bobcats scored six consecutive points to take an 11-5 lead. The rest of the set went back-and-forth only for Grove City to come out on top by a score of 25-23.
 
The second set belonged to the Wolverines. Grove City score 20 of the last 27 points to win the set 25-10. Pitt-Greensburg jumped out to a big lead in the third set, stretching it to 6-0, only for Grove City to come back and tie the score with six-consecutive points of their own. The rest of the set was a tug-of-war, with neither team scoring more than two consecutive points the rest of the way. GCC was able to take control and win the set by a score of 25-21.
 
The Bobcats were led by Emma Halutick who accumulated ten kills and eight digs. Taylor Logan tallied 22 assists and Abby Copeland had 12 digs.
 
Pitt-Greensburg will travel east on Route 30 to participate in the Bearcat Challenge at Saint Vincent College this Friday and Saturday.
