Game Recap: Women's Volleyball |

Bobcats can't get in win column in weekend mathces

The Pitt-Greensburg Women's Volleyball team made the trip north this weekend to take on Grove City on Friday as well as Behrend and Oberlin on Saturday. The Bobcats fought hard but dropped all three matches 3-0.

Against Grove City, UPG struggled in the first set, but came on strong in the later two matches. The Bobcats lost by a combined six points in the final two matches, forcing the Wolverines score 26 points in the second set.

Emma Halutick let UPG with 12 kills against GCC. Taylor Logan had 24 assists and Abigail Lescallette led the way on the defensive side with 27 digs. Abby Copeland also contributed with ten digs.

The Bobcats opened AMCC play against Behrend on Saturday. The Lions proved to be too much for UPG, winning in three sets by the scores of 25-9, 25,13, and 25-11. The Lions had 20 more kills than the Bobcats in the match. Behrend also had just five attack errors in the entire three sets. Madison Martin let the Bobcats in kills with six.

UPG bounced back and fought hard in its second match of the day against Oberlin. Despite the 3-0 loss, the sets were much closer than the earlier match against Behrend. UPG recorded 19 kills in the match however, Oberlin recorded 41. Oberlin had an attack percentage of 31.5 percent compared to 1.2 percent of UPG.

The Bobcats will play at home in two nonconference matchups this week against La Roche and Mount Aloysius on Tuesday and Thursday. Both matches will start at 7 pm in the Chambers Hall Gymnasium.
