Strong Second Half Leads Bobcats Past Hawks

ALVERTON, PA – The Bobcat men's soccer team explodes for three second half goals to defeat the Hawks of Hilbert 4-1. Caleb Yuricha scored his eighth goal of the year along with recording two assists on the day.

Vinny Treonze scored his second goal of the year to put the Bobcats ahead and Jeff Stritzl scored his first career goal to give the Bobcats a two-goal lead. There was also an own goal added in the final 12 minutes as the Bobcats kept the pressure on the Hawks for the entire second half. Zander Plizga got the assist on the Yuricha goal.

The Bobcats had plenty of chances to extend the lead as they recorded 20 shots with ten of those shots getting on goal. 13 of those shots came in the second half. A key to the offense were the dangerous corners from Plizga. The attempts may not have led to goals, but the Bobcats had a lot of pressure in the box off their set corner plays.

The defense was strong for Pitt-Greensburg a well as Danny Rodgers faces three shots and made two saves.

Pitt-Greensburg will travel to Hood on Oct. 4. Kickoff will be at 4 PM.
