Two Late Goals Send Men's Soccer Past Altoona

ALTOONA - Two late goals led the Bobcat men's soccer team past the Lions of Penn State Altoona by the score of 2-1 in a game that clinched a home playoff game for Pitt-Greensburg. Lucas Killen found the back of the net first off f a free kick and sophomore Ross Hartley clinched the win with a penalty kick goal in the 82nd minute.
 
The Bobcats had a steady presence in the Altoona defensive end, recording six shots in each half while holding Altoona to just four shots total. Junior Danny Rodgers made one save throughout the match.
 
IN a game that the Bobcats were missing freshman phenom Caleb Yuricha, it was the supporting cast that stepped up huge. Freshman Zander Plizga recorded five shots over 90 minutes and got two of those shots on net. He also recorded an assist on the Killen goal. Hartley also had two shots on goal in 86 minutes played.
 
With the win, the Bobcats clinched the program's first home AMCC Playoff game since Nov. 1, 2014, when the Bobcats defeated then AMCC foe D'Youville by a score of 2-0. This will also be the first time in over 15 years that the men's soccer team made the AMCC tournament in consecutive years.
