Game Recap: Men's Basketball |

Men's Basketball Falls to Hiram Due to Strong Shooting Night for Terriers

HIRAM, OH – It was a tale of two halves in the Bobcat Men's Basketball game against the Terriers of Hiram on Tuesday night. The Bobcats scored 50 points and held the terriers to just 39 points in the first half, giving Pitt-Greensburg an 11-point lead going into half. However, the tables turned in the second half with the Bobcats scoring just 37 points and giving up 55 points to the Terriers. Pitt-Greensburg was not able to hold the 11-point halftime lead, falling to Hiram 94-87.

Pitt-Greensburg shot close to 60 percent from the floor in the first half, including 54.55 percent from behind the arc. The Bobcats cooed off in the second half, shooting 13 percent less from the floor and making just one three-pointer.

Junior forwards Reggie Priah and Octavius Hardy made a living in the paint, with Priah scoring a game-high 22 points and Hardy scoring a career-high 19 points. Together the duo scored 41 of the team's 54 points in the paint.

The Terriers also had a strong shooting night, with the team shooting 54 percent from the field and 50 percent from behind the arc while drilling 14 three-pointers. Perhaps the difference in the two halves was that Hiram did not make a single trip to the charity stripe in the first half, but shot 16 free throws, making 12 of them in the second half. Also, the Terrier bench scored 26 points in the game, compared to just 12 bench points for the Bobcats.

Pitt-Greensburg will take the rest of the week off, not playing again until Tuesday, November 22 when they travel to Penn State Shenango.
