Game Recap: Men's Basketball |

Second Half Surge Propels Dragons Past Bobcats

HUNTINGDON, PA - The Bobcat men's basketball team last played a game on December 10th against Franciscan. That all changed tonight when the team traveled east to play in the Doc Greene Tournament, hosted by the Juniata Eagles. Pitt-Greensburg took on the 8-1 Dragons of SUNY Cortland. Pitt-Greensburg was not able to survive a second-half surge by Cortland, dropping the game 78-66.

The Bobcats played a strong first half, building a lead of up to six points during the first 20 minutes, taking a 37-34 lead into halftime. JoJo France, Matthew Marinchak and Octavius Hardy, who were the Bobcats three leading scorers in the game, scored 26 of their combined 35 points in the first half, with the latter of the two scoring just four points in the second half.

The Dragons came out firing in the second half, starting the frame on a 16-5 run to take a 50-43 lead. The Bobcats were not able to bounce back after that run as the Cortland lead grew up to 16 points in the final 20 minutes.

Pitt-Greensburg was able to recover and get within nine points in the final five minutes, however that is as close as they came.

JoJo France led the team with 15 points while Matthew Marinchak and Octavius Hardy scored ten each. Jaylen Williams also added eight points and seven rebounds.

The Bobcats will play again tomorrow at 2 PM in the consolation game.
