Second Half Surge Come Up Just Short in Men's Basketball Loss to Waynesburg

GREENSBURG – A first half that was full of turnovers from both teams gave way to an electric second half that saw the Bobcats come to withing two points of the Jackets of Waynesburg with under five minutes left. The Yellow Jackets were able to pull away and defeat the Bobcats 70-60.
 
JoJo France led the way for Pitt-Greensburg with 23 points while freshman Matthew Marinchak also scored in double-figures with 13 points. Micah Jones and Octavius Hardy secured seven rebounds for the Bobcats.
 
An assist to turnover ration of 3:1 helped the Bobcats storm back in the second half after falling behind early in the first half. The Jackets had an eight-point lead before the Bobcats could get anything going. Waynesburg was able to get in the paint early and often, scoring 38 of the team's 70 points in the paint. The Jackets sot 11 percent from behind the arc, making just two three-pointers. Waynesburg was able to make up for that, shooting over 85 percent from the free-throw line.
 
The Bobcats will take the court again this Saturday as they travel to Ohio to take on the Barons of Franciscan. Tip off will be at 12 PM.
