Turnovers Hurt Bobcats in First Round of AMCC Tournament

BUFFALO, NY - The Bobcat Men's Basketball Team suffered a crushing defeat to the Mavericks of Medaille in the first round of the AMCC Tournament. Sophomore Reggie Priah scored a career-high 26 points, but Medaille held the rest of the Bobcats in check to take the victory. Priah also had 13 rebounds to secure his fifth double-double of the season. JoJo France was held to just 12 points and was the only other Bobcat to score in double figures.

Kendall McGill led the way for the Mavericks, who won all three games against the Bobcats this season. McGill scored 22 points. Rodney Graves and Jaqwan Washington also scored in double figures for Medaille.

Turnovers were the story of the game for the Bobcats. Medaille forced Pitt-Greensburg into 20 turnovers and scored 24 points off those turnovers. The scoring in the paint was much closer than the last two games between the teams, however, Medaille still had 14 more paint points than the Bobcats.

Both teams shot well from the floor in the second half after struggling in the first half. Pitt-Greensburg made 60 percent of its shots after halftime while Medaille made close to 50 percent.  The Mavericks turned the ball over just nine times throughout the game.

The Mavericks will now move on to play Penn State-Altoona in the semifinals. The game will be held at Penn State-Behrend.
