Bobcats Lose to Terriers in Offensive Battle

HIRAM, OH – The Bobcat baseball team was led by Jacob Davey and Will Thorp who accounted for seven of the team's 12 hits in a 15-7 loss to the Terriers of Hiram.  A seven-run sixth inning doomed the Bobcats' comeback.
 
Notables
•Thorp went 3-for-4 with a home run and three RBIs.
•Davey got on base five times and went 4-for-4 with a double.
•  Brody Bonado drove in two runs and scored a run.

The Terriers jumped out to an early lead with a two-run home run in the first inning off Dereck Lopez. The also added a run in the the second inning to take a three-run lead. The Bobcats tied the game up in the third inning and took the lead for a half inning until Hiram came storming back with two runs in the fourth inning.
 
With a 6-4 lead in the seventh inning, Hiram scored seven runs to ultimately put the game out of reach for Pitt-Greensburg. The Terriers tacked on two runs in the seventh. Thorp's home run came in the eighth inning, giving the Bobcats the final runs of the game.
 
Up Next
The Bobcats will have its home opener tomorrow when they host the Bison of Bethany. First pitch will be at 4 pm.
