Bobcats Defense Struggles; Drop First of Three to Bethany

GREENSBURG, PA -  The Bobcat baseball team's defensive woes continued as the team gave up 11 runs, with just five of those runs being earned in a 11-5 loss to the Bison of Bethany College,
 
 
Notables
 
- Randy Hubbard  went 2-for-3 with a walk and an RBI.
- Hunter Gideons scored two runs for the Bobcats and was on base twice. 
- Mikey Sullivan pitched seven innings and gave up just three earned runs on ten hits.
 
Bethany was up one run in the fourth inning before the Bison were able to score five unearned runs off of Sullivan. The Bobcats were able to answer in the next half inning with an RBI groundout by Jacob Davey to get Pitt-Greensburg on the board. Bethany followed up with two more runs in the fifth inning to take a 8-1 lead.
 
The Bobcat offense came to life in the sixth inning with Devin Renzi, Hubbard, and Jordan Cavanaugh each earning RBIs. The Bobcats scored three runs to bring the game to 8-4, however, that is the closest the team would get. The Bison scored three more in the eighth inning and UPG added one in the ninth to come to the final score of 11-5.
