Game Recap: Baseball |

Bobcats Offense Comes Alive; Baseball Earns First Conference Sweep

GREENSBURG, PA – 34 hits and 28 runs were all part of an offensive explosion for the Pitt-Greensburg baseball team as the Bobcats earned its first conference sweep of the season. On top of all the offense, UPG gave up just four runs and seven hits.

Notables
Michael Sullivan Jr. had quite the day as he pitched six innings and earned the win in game one, as well as hitting a home run in each game. Sullivan had a total of six RBI and had more hits at the plate than he gave up on the mound.
Jacob Davey also had a huge day, as he hit his second home run of the season, this time a grand slam, and had six RBI between the two games.
Brody Bonadio had five RBI on two hits in game two. Bonadio was named the AMCC Player of the Week for his performance last week.
Reed Bursic pitched six innings, giving up two earned runs, and striking out six Hawk batters on the way to his first win of the season.

Game One
Hilbert loaded the bases without recording an out in the first inning only for Sullivan to turn them away and get out of the inning unscathed. This perhaps may have been all the momentum that the Bobcats needed, as they scored 19 runs over the next four innings enroute to a statement conference win. Bonadio had a double and a triple in the game as four other Bobcats had extra base hits. Sullivan went the distance and struck out a career-high nine batters.

Game Two
A four-run first inning propelled the Bobcats to yet another win in game two against Hilbert. Like in game one, the Bobcats tallied 17 hits. UPG held Hilbert to just three hits. On top of the four-run first inning, Pit-Greensburg scored runs in the third, sixth, and eighth inning.
