Hawks Prove to be Too Much for Men's Basketball

GREENSBURG – In a game that started on a 12-0 run for the Bobcats, the Hawks of Hilbert kept chipping away, taking the lead at halftime and did not look back. The Hawks defeated Pitt-Greensburg 86-83 in a thrilling matinee that took place in Chambers Hall.
 
The Bobcats lead grew to as much as 13 points with 13:30 left in the first half, but Hilbert climbed back to tie the game at 40 with a minute left in the half and eventually took a four-point lead into the break. The Hawks did not look back as its lead grew to as much as ten points with just under 14 minutes in the game.
 
The Bobcats were able to make a game of it, bringing the game within one point with 46 seconds left. Two crucial rebounds for Hilbert sealed the game Pitt-Greensburg was one bucket away from victory.
 
Senior JoJo France had a game-high 30 points while Reggie Priah and Octavius Hardy each scored in double figures.
 
Perhaps the difference in the game came on the offensive boards as Hilbert secured 21 rebounds off its own shot as the Bobcats were in zone for most of the game. Quran Briggs and Nevada Eldridge came off the bench for he Hawks and scored 22 points and 21 points respectively. Briggs also had nine rebounds.
 
The Bobcats will move on and dive deep into AMCC play as they travel to Alfred State this Saturday.
