Men's Basketball Celebrates Senior Day With Win Over Bradford

GREENSBURG – The Bobcat men's basketball team came into Senior Day against Pitt-Bradford with as close to a must-win game as it comes in terms of hosting a first-round AMCC Playoff Game. Pitt-Greensburg came into the day amid a three-way tie for the fourth seed with Bradford and Penn State-Behrend. At the end of the day, the Bobcats took care of business with Bradford while Behrend dropped a game to Penn State Altoona. The Bobcats defeated the Panthers 78-68.
 
Five Bobcats scored in double-figures, led by senior Micah Jones who also grabbed eight rebounds. Jones went 3-for-5 from behind the arc and hit five of seven free throws as well. Fellow senior JoJo France scored ten points on the day.
 
Freshman Armend Karpuzi and Matthew Marinchak stepped up huge for the Bobcats as they scored 14 and 12 points respectively. Junior Octavius Hardy had a great game, with ten points and eight rebounds, scoring very timely baskets in the second half to secure the win. '
 
Senior Tommy Arbuckly had eight points and was key to breaking the Panthers press in the first half. Conner Vehec finished the game with three rebounds and two assists. The fifth and final Bobcat senior, Jaylen Williams, was not able to play the whole game because of injury but did start and score the first bucket of the game.
 
Overall, the Bobcats shot over 50 percent from the floor and 80 percent from the free-throw line. The team also made eight three pointers. The Bobcats will travel to Cresson to take on Mount Aloysius in quest to keep their home playoff game hopes alive. Tip off will be at 7 PM Wednesday.
