Bobcats Offense Explodes in Victory Over Geneva

GREENSBURG – It was an offensive explosion at Bobcat Part today as Pitt-Greensburg took on the Golden Tornadoes of Geneva. Behind 17 hits and 12 walks, the Bobcats dominated and took the game 18-8. Ben Aftanas struck out seven batters over five innings and took his second career victory on the mound.

The Bobcats scored 14 out of the team's 18 runs in the first three innings as the team exploded from the start and took advantage of some shaky pitching by Geneva. The fist four Bobcats in the order walked multiple times in the game.

Geneva scored two runs in the first innings, but the Bobcats battled back in the bottom of the inning and didn't look back.

Freshman James Domer demolished a ball to center field for a three-run home run to give the Bobcats a 7-3 lead in the second inning.  Sophomore catcher Jaycob Caseras had six runs batted in during the game to lead the Bobcats. Domer and Colin Solinski had four runs scored each.

The bat of Michael Sullivan Jr. came alive as he went 3-for-5 with three RBI and two runs scored.

The Bobcats will be back in action on Monday at Bobcat Park as they will play a doubleheader against Bethany. First pitch of game one will be at 1 PM.
