Bobcats Earn Split With Chatham

GREENSBURG – It was a tale of two games for the Bobcats as they took on the Cougars of Chatham in a non-conference doubleheader today at Bobcat Park. Pitt-Greensburg dropped game one after the Chatham offense exploded for 20 runs. The Bobcats pitching was able to do just enough in game two as the offense came alive towards the end of the game, scoring two runs in the seventh inning and winning the game on a walk-off walk by senior Randy Hubbard.

The Bobcats took a 5-0 lead into the third inning of game one with freshman pitcher Calvin Bernard in a grove. The Cougars then scored ten runs in the top of the third inning to take the lead and take it for good. The Cougars also scored six runs in the top of the seventh inning.

Game two was a wild one as the Cougars jumped out to a 4-0 lead after the first inning. The team then scored another run in the top of the second only to be answered by three runs for Pitt-Greensburg in the bottom of the second inning. The Cougars took a 6-5 lead into the bottom of the seventh inning, only for the Bobcats to load the bases with no outs. Frankie Sebastiano walked in a run and Hubbard walked it off as he battled to a full count and was able to take the final pitch of the game.

The Bobcats will be at home again tomorrow when the Titans of Westminster pay a visit to Bobcat Park. First pitch will be at 4 PM.
