Offense Goes Cold in Second Half; Men's Basketball Falls to Altoona

ALTOONA – An 18-point, 11-rebound, six assist performance by Bobcat freshman Trent Rozich was not enough for Pitt-Greensburg in a matchup with PS Altoona inside Adler Arena. Matthew Marinchak added 17 points and Jackson Byer also had 14 points and eight rebounds, but the Lions came out on top 92-84.
 
Pitt-Greensburg took a ten-point lead into the half, but PS Altoona shot close to 60 percent from the floor an went 8-of-14 from behind the arc in the second half to outscore the Bobcats 56-38. Pitt-Greensburg shot just 32 percent from the floor in the second half and went 1-for12 from three-point land. The Bobcats fall to 6-5 in AMCC play with the loss.
 
Pitt-Greensburg will host the Pioneers of Alfred State this Saturday in a basketball doubleheader. It will also be Special Olympics Day inside Chambers Hall where there will be recognition of the Westmoreland County Special Olympics Basketball Athletes and part of the proceeds of ticket sales as well as a 50/50 raffle will be donated to the Special Olympics of Westmoreland County. The day will start with the women's game a 1:00 PM followed by the men at 3:00 PM.
