Volleyball Comes Back From 0-2; Completes Reverse Sweep of Mounties

CRESSON - The Pitt-Greensburg women's volleyball team secured a hard-fought 3-2 victory over Mount Aloysius in a conference matchup. Despite dropping the first two sets, UPG rallied to win the next three and complete the reverse sweep on the road at the Athletic Convocation & Wellness Center.

Mount Aloysius came out strong, winning the first two sets 25-8 and 25-17. UPG then turned the match around, winning the third and fourth sets by tight margins, 25-22 each. The deciding fifth set saw UPG clinch the victory 15-13 to cap off the thrilling contest.

Pitt-Greensburg displayed resilience throughout, led by key contributions in both attack and defense. Madison Friess and Mia Stohon led the team with 10 kills each, while Abigail Smulik added five aces to boost UPG's serving game. Defensively, Friess recorded 20 digs, while Grace Bradley added 14 assists, guiding UPG's offense.

With the win, UPG improves to 2-19 on the season and 1-1 in AMCC play. The team looks to build on this momentum as they visit Hilbert College. The weekend slate will take place on October 19th in Hamburg, NY.
