Volleyball Takes La Roche to Brink; Lose 3-2 in Five Sets

The Pitt-Greensburg women's volleyball team battled fiercely but came up just short in a five-set thriller against La Roche on October 22 at Chambers Hall in Greensburg, PA. The Bobcats fell 3-2 (23-25, 25-18, 25-22, 17-25, 7-15) in a tight contest, dropping their overall record to 3-20 and 2-2 in AMCC play.

Pitt-Greensburg's attack was led by Madison Friess, who delivered a standout performance with 21 kills and 36 digs. Supporting her effort was Haven King, who contributed 9 kills and 5 aces, and Mia Stohon, who added 8 kills. Grace Bradley added 16 assists, while Abigail Smulik had 20 assists and 17 digs.

Despite strong performances, UPG couldn't hold onto their lead, as the team struggled to find its rhythm in the final set, allowing La Roche to capitalize. Pitt-Greensburg will aim to bounce back on Senior Day, where they will take on Alfred State at home on Saturday, October 26 in Chambers Hall.
