GREENSBURG - The Pitt-Greensburg women's volleyball team faced a tough challenge against Penn State Altoona, falling 3-0 in the match. Despite the loss, UPG showed moments of resilience, particularly in the first set, where they pushed Altoona to the brink, but ultimately fell 25-23. Altoona finished strong, taking the next two sets 25-20 and 25-14.
Pitt-Greensburg's effort was led by standout performances from key players. Sophomore Madison Friess paced the offense with 13 kills on 43 total attacks, while Haven King added 5 kills. Setter Grace Bradley played an important role, tallying 11 assists and contributing defensively with 4 digs. Despite the Altoona attack, UPG had moments of defensive prowess, with King also adding 9 digs to her all-around performance. Abigail Miller also led the Bobcats in total blocks on the night.
The Bobcats will look to regroup and build on these efforts as they match up against Geneva College this Saturday, October 12th in Chambers Hall.
