Volleyball Battles W&J, Lose 3-1

WASHINGTON - The Pitt-Greensburg women's volleyball team faced a tough match against Washington & Jefferson on November 5, 2024, at Salvitti Family Gymnasium in Washington, PA, falling 3-1 (14-25, 25-22, 21-25, 11-25). The loss brings the Bobcats' season record to 3-26 overall and 2-6 in AMCC play.

Pitt-Greensburg's offense was led by Madison Friess, who recorded 11 kills and added 18 digs, while Mia Stohon contributed nine kills with an impressive .368 hitting percentage. Haven King supported the attack with seven kills and two service aces, and setter Abigail Smulik led in assists with 15, accompanied by eight digs.

Despite the effort, UPG was outpaced in total kills (34 to 57) and hitting percentage (.072 to .271) as Washington & Jefferson capitalized on key moments, ultimately taking control in the final set. Pitt-Greensburg will look to regroup as they travel to Pitt Bradford this Saturday.
