Baseball Fall to Hood in Season Opening Doubleheader

FREDERICK - The Pitt-Greensburg baseball team traveled to Hood College to play in their season opening doubleheader against the Blazers. The Bobcats dropped both games on the day. The final in game one was 19-5 with sophomore Tyler Litts receiving the loss. Game two finished 11-0 with Steven Muratore suffering his first loss of the season.

GAME ONE

The Blazers scored two early runs and kept them coming as they scored at least two runs in every inning except the sixth. The Bobcats were able to get runs across the plate in the third and the fifth inning. Reigning All-Region selection, James Domer, went 2-for-4 in game one with three RBI and a run scored. Domer had a double and a triple on the game. The Bobcats other all-region selection from last season, Colin Solinski, also singled in a run for Pitt-Greensburg. Freshman Charles Caputo was able to earn the first three strikeouts of his collegiate career as he recorded those in 2.2 innings.

GAME TWO

The Bobcat bats fell silent in game two as Pitt-Greensburg was able to record just three hits. The Bobcats were in striking distance throughout most of the game, being down just 4-0 going into the fifth inning. The Blazers scored six runs in the fifth, followed by one in the sixth inning to put the game out of reach.
