AUBURNDALE, Fla. – A day after the Bobcats baseball team played a game with 25 runs combined, the team found themselves in a pitcher's duel against the Lions of the College of New Jersey. The Lions took down the Bobcats 5-0.
Freshman
Nicholas Laubach started on the mound for the Bobcats and pitched five innings, giving up three runs, one earned, on four hits. Dan Merkel earned the win for New Jersey, pitching seven innings and struck out ten batters. The Bobcats recorded four hits in the game, with two coming off freshman right fielder Zachary Tyson's bat. Fellow freshman
Wyatt Alridge had the Bobcats lone extra base hit in the game. The Lions were able to get nine hits off Bobcat pitching while eight other batters reached as the Bobcat pitching walked eight batters.
Pitt-Greensburg will look to bounce back tomorrow against Keystone at 4:00 PM.
