Baseball Splits Non-Conference Matchup with Bethany

GREENSBURG – Pitt-Greensburg baseball was back at it today as they took on Bethany in a doubleheader at Bobcat Park. It was a tale of two games as the first of the pair was an offensive showdown that saw Pitt-Greensburg win 12-8. Bethany took game two in more of a pitcher's match up 6-5.

Game one saw the Bobcats tack on 13 hits and a nine-run second inning. Pitt-Greenburg score three more runs and got freshman Charles Caputo the first win of his career. Four Bobcats recorded multiple hits in the game including Ronald Howard III who had two hits, two runs scored, and three runs batted in. The Bobcats also stole three bases in the game, a season high.

Sophomore Tyler Litts pitched 5.1 innings in game two, giving up just three runs over four hits. James Domer was the lone Bobcat to have multiple hits as he reached base three times overall and scored two runs. Sophomore Colin Solinski hit his second home run of the year, both coming against the Bison. Smith also drove two runs home.

The Bobcats will once again be on the diamond tomorrow as they travel to Greenville to take on the Thiel Tomcats. First pitch will be at 4 PM.
