Baseball Drops AMCC Doubleheader to Alfred State

BOLIVAR, NY - The Pitt-Greensburg baseball team dropped two more AMCC games, this time to Alfred State. The Bobcat offense, which started out as a strength for the team, had their average drop to .223 over the past six AMCC games after the team started off conference play with a sweep of Hilbert. 

Game one saw the Pioneers defeat the Bobcats 8-0 with the Bobcats recording just two hits in the game. Freshman Lucas Miller came in for two shutout innings at the end of the game for Pitt-Greensburg, striking out two batters and not giving up a hit. The Pioneers recorded five extra-base hits and two stolen bases. 

Game two saw the Bobcats record seven hits with James Domer and Mason Boehm notching five of the seven hits. Domer's three hits were went for extra bases while Boehm had one of his hits go for extra bases. Sophomore Calvin Bernard Pitched 6.1 innings, giving up just three earned runs over seven hits and struck out five batters. Alfred State was able to record five extra base hits, including two triples.

The Bobcats will look to turn things around at home on Tuesday when the Lions of PS Altoona pay a visit to Bobcat Park. First pitch of game one will be at 1 PM.
