Baseball Swept by Mount Aloysius

GREENSBURG - The Bobcats came into today's doubleheader with first place Mount Aloysius with a 3-3 AMCC record after losing a tough series to Wells over the weekend. The Mountie pitching silenced the Bobcat bats in game one, shutting out the Bobcats 6-0, and then out lasted Pitt-Greensburg in game two after the team put up 25 runs and 40 hits combined.

Game one was a struggle for the Bobcat offense as Mount Aloysius pitcher Chris Hasse had a no hitter going into the seventh and final inning. Bobcats sophomores James Domer and Colin Solinski came through with back-to-back hits with no outs in the seventh, but it wasn't enough. Hasse struck out 11 batters in the game.

Game two saw a lot more offense as the Mounties jumped out to a 4-1 lead after the second inning. The Bobcats came back make it 6-5 in the third inning and eventually had the game tied at eight in the fifth. Mount Aloysius added on eight runs i the final four innings as the Bobcats were able to put across just one run. Sophomore Hunter Gideons had his best offensive game of the season as he went 4-for-5 with two runs scored and an RBI. Four other Bobcats had multi-hit games.

The Bobcats will look to stop their AMCC skid against Alfred State this weekend. The game will be played on Sunday with game one starting  at 1 PM.
