Men's Soccer Falls With Late Tomcat Goal

GREENVILLE – The Bobcat Men;s Soccer team completed their second game in as many days to open the 2024 season, dropping its first road match to the Tomcats of Thiel 2-1.
 
Sophomore Matt Armenio scored the Bobcats first goal of the season on a penalty kick early in the second half. Pitt-Greensburg out shot the Tomcats 13-12, but Thiel was able to get ten shots off in the second half alone, with two of those shots resulting in goals. Sophomore keeper Brett Barnes made his first start of the season, making three saves on five shots. The Tomcats took the lead in the game for good with a goal in the 88th minute of the game to take the result.
 
Pitt-Greensburg will be back at Ridilla field on Tuesday when they host the Titans of Westminster. Kickoff will be at 4:00 PM.
