The Pitt-Greensburg Bobcats (9-0, 3-0 AMCC) head to Reading, Pennsylvania, to compete in the DoubleTree Holiday Tournament hosted by Albright College. UPG enters the weekend as one of only nine remaining undefeated teams in NCAA Division III, riding high after a dominant 91-61 win over Alfred State on December 13. The Bobcats boast a balanced offensive attack, with four players averaging double figures:
Game 1: UPG vs Albright College
Date/Time: Saturday, Dec. 29 at 2 PM
Opponent: Albright Lions (4-5, 0-0 MAC)
The Bobcats open against the host Lions, who enter on a three-game win streak, most recently edging Kean 82-79. Albright is led by Qadir Mitchell, who scored 37 points in that win and averages 18.3 PPG. Supporting him are Jeremiah Stanton (14.2 PPG) and Phanique Dupree (13.8 PPG). This will be the first-ever meeting between the two programs.
Game 2: UPG vs John Carroll or Stockton
Date/Time: Sunday, Dec. 30 at 2 PM or 4 PM
- John Carroll Blue Streaks (8-2, 1-2 NCAC): Coming off a 104-94 win over Chatham, led by Luke Chicone (36 points) and Kasey Hunt (29 points). Chicone averages 25.4 PPG, ranking fourth nationally in Division III.
- Stockton Ospreys (4-4, 3-2 NJAC): Recently defeated Rutgers-Newark 82-59, paced by Justin Harper (20 points). Season leaders include Eriq Campbell (13.4 PPG) and Harper (12.0 PPG).
Both potential opponents present unique challenges, and UPG will look to maintain its perfect record heading into the new year.
