Men's Basketball Continues Surge; Defeat La Roche

PITTSBURGH, PA—Another game brought another win for the Pitt-Greensburg men's basketball team, meaning the Bobcats have nine wins out of ten games since the New Year. Tonight, the Bobcats took down La Roche on the same court that the team came one possession away from knocking out last season in the AMCC semifinals. This time, the Bobcats came out victorious 84-77.
 
Trent Rozich and Matthew Marinchak led the Bobcats' scoring barrage, with 23 and 21 points, respectively. Marinchak grabbed eight rebounds, while Rozich had seven rebounds and four assists over 40 minutes. Joziah Wyatt-Taylor and Ty Keffer also scored in double-figures for the Bobcats with 12 and 11 points, respectively.
 
Pitt-Greensburg was hitting from everywhere on the court offensively, shooting over 50 percent from the floor and over 47 percent from the three-point line. Rozich and Marinchak had three makes from behind the arc, while Keffer tallied two.
 
Overall, the game was back-and-forth, with the score tied eight times and the lead changing hands seven times. Coach Klimchock and his Bobcats will continue their quest for playoff seeding with a crucial stretch of games coming up. The Bobcats will take on the current six seed in Hilbert on Saturday in Hamburg, N.Y. The Bobcats defeated the Hawks in the teams' matchup in Greensburg 89-76. Tip-off for this edition of the matchup will be at 1 p.m. inside Hafner Recreation Center.
