Baseball Falls to Dominican in Offense-Heavy Game

WINTER HAVEN, FL - A record was taken down as Bobcat junior James Domer hit his 11th career triple, breaking the record of ten that Chris Common and Greg Lynn have stood since 2016. Domer hit an RBI triple to left center in the first inning to score the Bobcats' first run. Overall, the Bobcats had 12 hits, but the Stars of Dominican scored two runs in the seventh and three runs in the eighth to defeat Pitt-Greensburg 8-5.

Four Bobcats had multiple hits, including two doubles and a single by Colin Solinski. Freshman catcher Jonah Marks had two hits in the box and threw out three attempted base stealers as he started his Bobcat career with a bang.

Senior Steven Muratore pitched 5.1 innings and struck out two batters. JJ Siemon and Jacob Staraniec pitched the final 3.2 innings. The Bobcats struck out nine times in the game and again couldn't find the timely hitting, leaving nine runners on base.

The Bobcats will return to the field on Sunday to play Trine at the Lake Myrtle Complex. Game one's first pitch will be at 9:30 a.m.
