Baseball Falls at Hiram

HIRAM, OHIO – The Pitt-Greensburg baseball team continued its offense in a mid-week non-conference trip to Ohio, taking on the Terriers of Hiram. The Bobcats scored nine runs on 12 hits but couldn't keep the Terriers off the board as they fell 11-9.
 
Tommy Smith went 4-for-5 in the game with two doubles and drove in two runs. James Domer hit his fourth home run of the season; a three-run shot in the second inning. Domer also scored two runs. Colby Rearick and Conner Burkey also had multiple hits in the game. Rearick and Ben Aftanas also scored multiple runs.
 
Junior Calvin Bernard started the game for the Bobcats, pitching 3.1 innings and striking out four batters. Nicholas Laubach and Jacob Staraniec came in for 2.1 innings of relief each. Four of the Terriers' 11 runs were unearned.

The Bobcats will travel to New York for an AMCC Doubleheader against Hilbert on Saturday, followed by a doubleheader against Fredonia on Sunday.
