Domer Breaks Record; Baseball Splits With Behrend

GREENSBURG, PA – Seeding in the AMCC Tournament is on the line, and the Pitt-Greensburg baseball team helped its case by halting Penn State Behrend's 16-game winning streak behind the nation's leader in complete games, Conner Burkey. In game two, the program's hit record came crashing down as junior James Domer recorded his 177th hit as a Bobcat, surpassing former All-Region player Chris Common.

Game One
All but one of the Bobcat starters reached base in the first half of the twin bill, including Hunter Gideons, who capitalized on his three at-bats with three extra-base hits. It was two doubles and a triple for Gideons, who also drove in two of the Bobcats' eight runs.

Reigning AMCC Pitcher of the Week Colin Bolla's outing unraveled in the third inning, following Behrend taking a 3-0 lead in the top of the inning. Bolla walked home two runs and scored two more on a hit-by-pitch and a balk. Colin Solinski and Zachary Tyson singled home the game's final two runs.

Burkey earned his seventh complete game of the season, two more than any other pitcher in the country. He is also tied for the AMCC lead with seven wins and third in the conference with a 2.72 ERA and 49 strikeouts.

Game Two
The second game of the day was one to forget for the Bobcats, except for a fourth-inning double that gave James Domer the Pitt-Greensburg career hit record. Domer has 177 hits in his Pitt-Greensburg career, 75 of which have been extra bases. He is third in the nation with a .486 batting average.

Up next:
The Bobcats will face a non-AMCC opponent in Franciscan on Thursday, followed by the final regular-season AMCC doubleheader at Pitt-Bradford on Friday.
