Bobcat Men Drop Road Match to Presidents

The Pitt-Greensburg men's soccer team fell 2-0 on the road Wednesday evening against Washington & Jefferson at Alexandre Stadium.

The Bobcats (3-3-2) held the Presidents (4-1-1) scoreless through the first half, but two second-half goals proved decisive. Despite being outshot 19-4, Pitt-Greensburg limited W&J's dangerous chances throughout the match.

"They committed a lot of numbers defending in our own half which made it difficult to build on possession," said Head Coach Marc Bucci. "Despite the number of shots against, I can't remember too many dangerous opportunities against us."

Goalkeeper Brett Barnes turned in another solid performance, making four saves and commanding the box throughout the match. His efforts helped keep the Bobcats within striking distance until the final minutes.

"Brett commanded his box well tonight," Bucci added. "It's unfortunate that the two goals given up were self-inflicted mistakes, which is something we need to clean up before conference play."

Offensively, Pitt-Greensburg earned six corner kicks and saw shots from Lucas Pittman, Trevor Kovatch, Ethan Rose, and Cam Loveland. Kovatch and Pittman each put a shot on goal, while the team pushed forward late in search of an equalizer.

The Bobcat men hit the road Saturday to face Eastern University. Kickoff is scheduled for 11AM.
