Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Bobcats Edged by Penn College in Physical Match

The Pitt-Greensburg men's soccer team dropped a hard-fought 1–0 decision to Penn College on Tuesday evening at Ridilla Field. The Bobcats, now 1-1-1 on the season, battled through a physical contest that saw limited scoring chances and high defensive intensity.

Penn College netted the game's lone goal in the 19th minute when defender Will Watson buried a rebound into the back of the net. Despite several opportunities, including a missed penalty kick in the first half, Pitt-Greensburg was unable to find the equalizer.

"We had our chances," said Head Coach Marc Bucci. "With the physical game, I felt we created enough to win. On another day, maybe the outcome is different. Credit to Penn Tech for their physicality to take us out of rhythm."

The Bobcats registered six shots, with three on goal, and held their own defensively. Goalkeeper Brett Barnes made three saves, keeping the match within reach until the final whistle.

Penn College's high-pressure style disrupted Pitt-Greensburg's usual tempo and possession-based approach.

"They took us out of our patient, methodical game with their high-intensity pressure," Bucci added. "It forced us to try to win ugly, which is a trait that will help us when conference play rolls around."

Pitt-Greensburg returns to action in another home non-conference matchup this Saturday against Waynesburg with kick-off scheduled for 2PM.
